Spiritual Direction – Ten universal questions for living a spiritual life

“Spiritual Direction is to recognize that God does not solve our problems or answer all our questions, but leads us close to the mystery of our existence where all questions cease to exist.”
~ Henri Nouwen

Spiritual direction 12 weeks:
Monday 7 November – 19 December + 9 Jan. – 13 February 2023 from 10.00 – 12.00pm
On zoom

Description:
The objective of spiritual direction is spiritual formation, the ever-increasing capacity to live a spiritual life from the heart. The commitment to spiritual direction gives you the opportunity for spiritual friendship, and provides the time, structure, wisdom and discipline to create space in your life in which you meet God. By creating a sacred space, you reserve a part of yourself and prevent your life from being completely filled up with all kinds of things. Spiritual direction gives you an opportunity to be still, to address God in prayer and reflection. When this happens, your life begins to transform in wonderful and surprising ways.
The aim of this retreat is spiritual formation so as to increase your capacity to live a spiritual life from the heart.
Henri Nouwen was a Dutch-born Catholic priest, spiritual guide, and author. He inspired many people
during his lifetime, but his principles of spiritual formation were never written down. In the book “Spiritual Direction”, Henri’s wisdom speaks of living life from the Heart, the discipline of the Book, and being in Community with others.
